QDivision’s Training Program – 2019 Session
We can’t believe QDivision’s 2019 QTraining Program session only has only a couple weeks left! The apprentices made a ton of progress finishing up their instructional learning phase and recently started the second half of the program: project phase.
What does this mean?
The eight apprentices have been split up into two teams with real stakeholders, agile coaches, product owners and user experience (UX) to deliver a valuable experimental piece of software. This phase is crucial to the program because it not only gives them real-world experience using everything they’ve learned and but also a safe environment to overcome obstacles our QDivision development teams face every day. That’s not all they have been up to!
Career development workshops have also been a big part of this year’s program, covering topics such as resume building, LinkedIn tips, and interview preparation. Apprentices recently visited Dodge Moving & Storage in Earth City, Missouri where they had the opportunity to learn more about our agent partnership and tour the facilities with Tom Linhares, EVP & COO. Final prototype presentations will take place at the end of September.
The QDivision Training Program helps bridge the gap between knowing how to code and knowing how to deliver software as part of an agile team. Our mission is to offer a focused software engineering apprenticeship that strives to develop the apprentices’ technical and teamwork skills to accelerate their careers.
